About me

Kate Disley MSMA, BA (Hons)

I have over 15 years hands on experience working as a Sports Massage Therapist. I holds a sports degree from Durham University and I'm a Gold Member of the SMA. I trained with the APPI (Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute) in both Matwork and Performance Pilates.

I have worked with several sport teams as well as individual athletes from elite runners and cyclists to junior gymnasts, squash players and local harriers’ groups.

With a background in Sports, I have tried most things, previously playing elite level Rugby Union for over 20 years. I too have suffered my share of injuries so I have a huge amount of compassion and understanding when treating sports injuries.

I offer Pilates on a one to one basis and in a class setting at various levels. My Performance Pilates classes are renowned among my patients as being challenging, supportive and focused to help improve sports performance.

When I'm not working, I have two small children at home to keep me busy. I am still incredibly passionate (and competitive) about sport and activity so when the time allows I get out on my bike, revisit old rugby training drills and like to lift heavy stuff!
